Before Winter Recess, the 7th Grade boys' chorus embraced the gift of giving by collecting non-perishable food items for Riverdale Neighborhood House's food distribution event.
The inspiration to support the Riverdale Neighborhood House drive began with a challenge from Music Teacher Ena Shin: take ownership of a service-learning project. From there, students embraced the opportunity to lead, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact on their community.
In addition to visiting classrooms to perform festive songs, the chorus gave an encore performance when dropping off their donations at Riverdale Neighborhood House. Afterwards, Shin asked students to reflect on their experiences.
